Could the surge work?
Could it really be the case that now the administration is serious? Could it really be that they know they have to get smart and pull their shit together after chaotically exploiting and milking the big, exploding Iraq titty-party for all the wealth, power, influence, guns, whiskey, sexy and other various personal psychotic reasons they could muster, and now they actually will put meters on the oil taps, turn on the electricity, supply the hospitals, create the jobs, calm down the streets, and get one democratic government in control so that we can get out?
Nah. Never mind.

The Bushies sat down and decided on a number that they could get away with. The polls are down, so they went conservative with 20,000. They decided they would send in as many more troops as possible to escalate the conflict for as long as they can manage. This way their military profits will continue for as long as possible.
Hopefully, the Iraq conflict will rage on long enough for the old republican power base to regain political control in the U.S. and they can redirect the war to another part of the world. We must keep fighting if we are to maintain our largest industrial export - weapons.
